BOHINJ SKI AREA.

The ski resort of Bled is part of the Bohinj Ski Area with access to 82 individual pistes. It offers some of the most picturesque skiing in the world.

There are 3 pisted ski runs in Bled itself. This Staza ski area, reached by chairlift from Bled's centre, is best suited to beginners and early intermediates. The English-speaking ski school is excellent and great value for money.

You can get a ski lift pass that will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Bohinj ski resorts of Kobla, Kranjska Gora, Krvavec, Soriska Planina, Stari Vrh and Vogel.

The lift pass enables you to use the free bus to the two ski areas of Vogel and Kobla on the slopes of Mount Triglav, where you can ski up to 1800m.

Beginners can master techniques on Kobla before testing the wide open runs on Vogel's superb plateau. There are a variety of runs on Kobla and Vogel for intermediates. Vogel has an incredible 8.5 km run going over the back of the mountain and descending to the magnificent lakeside area below.

Après ski, nightlife in Bled is concentrated around the shopping centre and in the old part of the town where there is an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants. Bled has an ice-skating rink and the pathway around the lake is cleared for a fairy-tale walk. There is outdoor skating when the lake freezes.
